Orderly construction of the city’s recycled water distribution system, including dry segments of recycled water mains for future use, shall occur with proposed development or redevelopment of a parcel within the city’s recycled water service area. New recycled water infrastructure shall be designed and constructed consistent with the city’s standard specifications and engineering standards and uniform design criteria. In lieu of construction/installation of recycled water mains within the recycled water service area, a surety approved by the city may be provided at the discretion of the utilities director in conformance with city bonding requirements.
