This chapter describes tentative map application requirements, review procedures, and required findings for approval or denial. The term “tentative” or “vesting tentative” map is inclusive of tentative parcel maps and tentative tract maps. Tentative maps are maps initially reviewed for either a “final parcel” or “final tract” map subdivision. See Chapter 16.12 for additional review requirements that apply to vesting tentative maps.
