This phase of the subdivision process includes the final design of the subdivision, engineering of public improvements, and the submittal of either a “parcel” or “final” map together with improvement plans for city review and action. As discussed in the definitions section, a “parcel” map is generally the recording instrument for tentative parcel map and a “final map” is generally the recording instrument for tentative tract maps.
