Within twenty-four hours after impounding any dog properly registered under the provisions of the ordinance codified herein, the poundmaster shall notify the registered owner of the dog by telephone, mail or orally that such dog is impounded and that it can be redeemed within three days from the date of such impounding and unless redeemed the dog will be disposed of in any manner as provided by this chapter.
